April Sky Flower and Herb Farm is a small hobby farm in the heart of Indianola, Iowa. The hobby farm was born from a childhood dream of life-long resident, Emily Roush — as a child walking barefoot in her dad’s strawberry patch to a teenager who worked in a flower shop, she dreamed of someday owning a flower shop.
The gardening bug hit early and she started growing flowers as a teenager. She joined a garden club, worked in a flower shop, and grew a garden in her parents’ back yard. More than 30 years later, when the world was shut down during the 2020 pandemic, she decided it was time to make that dream more of a reality.
She tilled up 2,000 sq feet of her back yard to grow cut flowers and share with her local community.
